Planning - Evaluate Control Environment Evaluate the Overall Control Environment. The next tab is for evaluating the control environment and setting a company-wide testing level. To do this, you will answer a series of questions about the company and its culture, rating each one on a scale of 1 to 10, where a score of 1 indicates that the statement is not true and a score of 10 indicates that the statement is very true.
Based upon your responses, each
item is identified as low, medium or high risk. Scrolling down to the bottom
of the page, you will see the averages for each of the categories and an
overall average. Based upon your assessment, you may change the testing
level from our default level of 1.0. The higher then number the more testing
that will be required, the lower the level the lower the testing that will
be required. We believe the default level of 1.0 to be appropriate for
most companies.
